After spending two days trying to corral Davy, hold on to his overalls to keep him from running away, and catch him before he tumbled down stairs or ran into the street, we finally resorted to the harness. Yes, a leash. He wasn't happy unless he was walking, and he wasn't safe walking without it. He didn't mind at all. I don't even know if he noticed. He was too busy exploring and going his own way to notice that he had any kind of restriction. Somehow he still managed to end up with Grandpa's cane. This is Grandpa's back-up cane though. Why does he need a back-up cane? Because Davy steals his cane, won't let go, and runs off with it. He actually carries it like a cane and hits it on the ground as he walks. Crazy Davy.
We went to Jamestown this afternoon, but only to the glass blowing part and the drive tour around the island (completely uneventful). Davy's favorite part was collecting nature and taking it with him. Sometimes with the aid of a helpful adult. Grandma obviously has a pine cone in this picture.
