I started feeling sick yesterday when I woke up, so I haven't visited with my grandma yet. And my mom didn't call. So I finally talked to her this evening to get an update. Grandma is in the nursing facility in Canal Winchester now, which is really good since she apparently doesn't know who anyone is (including herself). She's just been sitting and staring. Grandma was like this before she was transfered from the hospital late this morning, so it isn't a consequence of the move. It's awful to think this way, but there isn't a cure for Alzheimer's, and after seeing her, death seems like a blessing. She just stares and doesn't do anything. They've had to restrain her because she'll wander around. Since she doesn't know who she is and is very weak, she easily could hurt herself and/or others if she starts wandering around the nursing home.
Davy's been really sweet today. I don't know if he's feeling sick too, but he's been napping with me and just sitting on my lap a little more than usual. I have no idea what I have. Mostly I'm just achy and my throat's been sore. This afternoon my sinuses feel congested too. All things that a baby can't express. So he might be feeling under the weather a little.
In addition to climbing on things, Davy also likes to climb under things. Like tables (where he will just sit by himself for a little while), clothes racks (where he gets caught and can't slither out quick enough to make him happy), and the rocking horse. Lately he's been doing a lot of walking backwards too.
A woman who works at our local Target liked my baby wearing coat so much that she wants to get her daughter one. People in that store stare and make a big deal about the coat (and Davy). I don't know if it's that they can't tell he's back there until I pass them, or that Davy is flirting with them. He's such a flirt, so it could easily be the latter. I don't know where he got his outgoing personality from (yeah, right). ![]()
