Davy's first birthday party was a success! Davy was very sociable. Even if he didn't know/ recognize some of the people there, he continued to visit and smile with everyone. He definitely isn't a shy boy.
Presents were a challenge. Davy wanted to open them before it was time, and then when everyone was ready he was on to something else. We had plenty of help unwrapping presents even without Davy's help. Several of the little girls helped. Davy was more interested in a play sippy cup that his friend had. And of course he liked the presents after they were unwrapped.
The cake was yummy. We had cupcakes rather than a regular cake, and Davy had a little heart-shaped cake of his very own. He seemed to enjoy it, but I think he liked all the people looking at him better. He kept giggling and smiling while he was eating cake. The icing was a little strange. It kept going up his nose as he stuck his face in his cake. And it was sticky enough that I had to wipe icing off his nose several times. Davy didn't seem to mind though.
