August 21

Davy and I have been really busy the past two days. It started off innocently enough Monday when I decided to take Joe's car in for an oil change and to have the right front tire looked out (it seemed to be losing air). Joe said that it probably needed an alignment. So I thought I'd take it somewhere that I had a coupon for and could also do an alignment. So I took it over to Gemini Goodyear in Pickerington. The coupon was for a $14.95 oil change, which I thought was a great deal. So it seemed worth the inconvenience of dropping the car off, having my mom pick me up, and moving the car seat back and forth. It was a good thing I took the car there because it turned out that our brakes were pretty much gone, both at the front and back. So we ended up having to get all new brakes on the car too, which meant that the car wasn't done until today (Tuesday). So I had to borrow Mom's car to drive home last night, then drive back to her house early since I didn't want her to be without a car all day either. We ran a bunch of errands with Mom. Mostly we picked up school supplies for Mom's classroom.

Gene (my grandma's husband) told Mom this past weekend that he was going out of town this coming weekend and was going to drop Grandma off Wednesday. Well, Mom has to work (mandatory) in her classroom Thursday and Friday, and really needs to be in there Wednesday as well since parents are coming in Thursday night and she has to get the classroom ready. Mom hasn't been able to get anyone to watch Grandma -- and neither of us wants to hire someone from an agency -- so I am watching Grandma during the day at my house on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I am getting paid for it (woo-hoo!), but I'd do it anyway. Those agency-people scare me, especially after the people that came to take care of Dad. They were nuts. One of them bootlegged movies from a movie theatre (before internet downloading), and another had an extensive stuffed animal collection in the backseat of her car. Mostly they just watched TV.
