Entry for May 04, 2007

Davy and I went to pick up rocks this afternoon. We got a bunch from a construction site in Ann & Pat's neighborhood. We got some yesterday too, but the ones today were smaller since I already had taken a bunch of the big ones. There are still a couple huge rocks that I think Ann and Pat will like when they get home.

After picking up rocks, we went to Mom's house to print a coupon. It turns out that I didn't need a coupon. Everything at Lane Bryant's is 30% off -- no coupon needed. Mom didn't work today because she had something at Mikey's school, so we went shopping this afternoon/evening for clothes for Steph's wedding. I got sandals, two tops (that fit!), and Davy got an outfit and shoes. Nothing Davy got was for Steph's wedding. All was for today. Mom thought that Davy was cold in just a onesie. So she bought him a new onesie and overalls. The new onesie was size 12 mo (Carter's), and it fit perfectly! Why, oh why, is he growing so fast? I was totally unprepared to go out, so I didn't have extra clothes for Davy or a carrier. I can't believe I didn't have a carrier. I cannot leave home without at least a sling in the future. I also looked gross because I had been carrying rocks. But I needed to go tonight because I have so few chances to try clothes on with Davy and this way I would have help. I still didn't get to try on pants, but I have a pair already that I think will work. I did get Real Woman dollars though! Free clothes (well, Mom paid since it's for Steph's wedding), and then free clothes in a couple of weeks!

Getting Davy's shoes was fun. Mikey needed dress shoes since he is walking Stephanie down the aisle, so we went to Stride Rite. While we were there, I saw some baby shoes that I'd seen online, so I asked about them. I told the woman that Davy is almost 4 months old, but that his feet are big. She proceeded to tell me that Davy would wear 0-6 mo because of the way sizes run. In this shoe, 0-6 is like size 1-2. So I repeated that his feet are big. She kept talking about how these shoes really do fit larger than other shoes since they are totally soft. I told her again that his feet are big. She finally came over to look at his feet, and she said "Oh, he does have big feet. He is definitely a size 3 double-wide." Duh. I told you several times he had big feet! She probably thought I was exaggerating. But no. So his feet are big and wide.

Davy still isn't rolling over, but he somehow manages to move himself all over the bed at night. I don't know how he does it. He does push himself up with his feet and rolls himself onto his side, so he must do it that way. I just know that I wake up with little feet in my back that weren't there before.
